Introduction

In this session, you will learn about interviewing for a job. A job interview is a conversation between two people to determine if one of them should join the organization the other represents.

  • Improving your interviewing skills can help you get the job that you want. Once you have found an interesting job prospect, you need to prepare a resume of your work experience and your educational background.
  • You should also learn about the organization to find out if it is reputable and to be able to answer questions intelligently during your interview.
  • Before going to the interview, spend some time practicing answers to typical interview questions. Dress neatly and conservatively for the interview.
  • Go to the interview alone, and arrive early. Greet the interviewer by name. During the interview, listen carefully and follow directions. Present a positive attitude. Maintain effective eye contact and watch your body posture.
  • After the interview, it is important to write a thank-you letter. Remind the interviewer of who you are and what skills you have to offer.
